Long Island Business Institute

Long Island Business Institute (LIBI) began in 1968 as a business school in Commack , New York offering secretarial and business programs as well as a Court Reporting Program. In 1995, LIBI was certified as an occupational college by the New York State Board of Regents authorized to award the Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree in court reporting.  In addition to the diploma and degree programs in Accounting, Business Management, Office Technology and Court Reporting, LIBI had also added certificate programs in Court Reporting and English as a Second Language.

In 2001, the first LIBI Branch Campus opened in Flushing , New York offering several diploma and AOS degree business programs as well as Computer Applications, and an English as a Second Language Certificate program to accommodate the large Asian and Hispanic immigrant populations.  LIBI earned ACICS accreditation in 1994.

Current Programs

Currently, in 2007, the Flushing Branch Campus offers AOS degree programs in Business Management, Accounting, and Office Technology with Medical Office option and Court Reporting.  In addition, diploma programs are offered in Office Technology and Medical Billing & Insurance.  A non-credit certificate program in English as a Second language is also offered.  The Commack Campus offers the Court Reporting A.O.S. and certificate programs.
