Mission
The Flushing and Commack Branch libraries support the curriculum and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. Both libraries are managed by Librarians professional trained in the organization and management of information and services. They collaborate with faculty to provide the college with current and innovative information resources. The Libraries publish monthly newsletters to keep users informed of the latest additions to our library collection.
Collection
The scope of the library collection covers the fields of knowledge, which are of interest to the academic environment. The resources have a comprehensive and in-depth coverage for the disciplines and subject areas that reflect the curricular and research activities.In addition, the Commack and Flushing library adheres to the material recommendations suggested by the National Court Reporters Association. Commack Campus offers an extensive selection of court reporting materials including reference materials, books specific to the field of Court Reporting, and practice dictation audio tapes, CD’s and DVD’s from the NCRA as well as other reputable sources.The libraries are members of the Metropolitan New York Library Council-METRO and the Long Island Resource Council-LILRC and are part of their inter-library loan program.
