LIBI Graduation 2007

On Sunday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m., both Campuses of the Long Island Business Institute celebrated it’s commencement of the class of 2007 with a lovely ceremony on the campus of Queensborough Community College. The master of ceremonies for the first time was president, Donna E. McCullough who enthusiastically welcomed the graduates, honored guests, faculty and staff. Two Valedictorians shared the honor, Rafaella Brenner of the Commack Court Reporting program and Wei Cai of the Flushing Accounting Program. Two salutatorians, Denise L. Philipps and Dan Dan Chen, shared the stage to introduce the instructors presenting the highest G.P.A. in each program. A great inspirational and very personal speech was given by the keynote speaker, Assembywoman Ellen Young, who shared her own touching story of her road to success as a Chinese immigrant. Honor graduates were asked to rise and be recognize and President McCullough handed out diplomas before conferring the diplomas and degrees. A lovely reception was hosted by the college where beverages and pastries were served as students and their families gathered for photo opportunities with their fellow graduates.
