Eligibility requirements
1. enrollment in a licensed NY State court reporting school
2. attendance at day or night sessions on a regular schedule
3. qualification of a school administered test of 150 words per minute with at least 95% accuracy
4. Grade point average of at least “B”
5. Not already receiving financial aid, exclusive of student loans
6. submission of a brief resume of education and work experience
7. previous recipients of the Horizon Scholarship are not eligible to apply

Frank Sarli Memorial Scholarship
Frank Sarli dedicated his professional life to court reporting, and especially to students, serving many years on NCRA's committees and boards that guide the education of court reporting students. He gave unselfishly of his time to mentor reporting students and to help them on their way to successful careers.

NCRF is proud to offer the Frank Sarli Memorial Scholarship for 2007. This scholarship goes to one deserving, qualified, NCRA student member at an NCRA-approved program.

Eligibility requirements

1. The nominee must be a current NCRA student member.
2. The nominee must be enrolled in an NCRA-certified court reporting program.
3. The nominee must have passed at least one of the court reporting program's Q & A tests at a minimum
of 200 words per minute.
4. The nominee must have a grade point average of at least a 3.5 overall, based on a 4.0 standard.
5. The nominee must have a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
6. Nominees must possess all the qualities exemplified by a professional court reporter, including
professional attitude, demeanor, dress and motivation.
7. All criteria must be confirmed and verified by the submitting court reporting program.

Students who are currently enrolled at NCRA –certified programs and the meet the criteria above are eligible. Only one nomination from each NCRA-Certified Program will be accepted. Nominations are due not later than March 15, 2007. Nomination forms are available by clicking on the link below or by calling 800/272-6272. A random drawing at NCRA’s Midyear Conference in Vancouver from all qualified nominees will select the winner of the scholarship. The winner will be publicized in the JCR, News Flash, Caselines, and online, and will be formally announced at NCRA’s Annual Convention in Dallas.
