Academic Leadership
Donna E. McCullough, College President
Donna joined the Long Island Business Institute as Academic Dean/Branch Director in 2005 and was appointed president in January 2007. Serving as the chief executive and academic officer of the college, Donna’s primary role is to provide leadership to all senior management and supervision of all LIBI campuses, maintain compliance with accreditation and NY state standards, supervise curriculum development, maintain academic standards and implement, develop and institute organizational policy and procedures.

Jose Santana, Campus Director/Assistant Academic Dean
With LIBI since September 2004, as Commack Campus Director Mr. Santana oversees and manages the daily operations of the Commack Campus. In his leadership role he implements school policies and procedures. In addition, Jose addresses students and employees concerns; monitors students’ academic progress, curricula, and the Commack campus facility.

Deloris Mitchell, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs
As the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Mitchell is responsible for promoting academic and administrative leadership as well as the supervision of the faculty. Maintaining College level academic standards and ensuring that we meet and uphold all criteria required by the NY State Education Department as well as ACICS, our accrediting agency is the Dean's main focus. This includes overseeing Curriculum development, faculty mentorship, faculty professional development, and articulation between other colleges. Deloris joined LIBI in the Fall '07 and has held previous positions in higher education such as Program Manager of Business and Director of Continuing Education, VP of Education, as well as Regional Dean of Education. Deloris has worked in both Public and Proprietary schools and colleges.

Michelle Houston, Coordinator of Court Reporting Program
With LIBI since 1990, Michelle oversees the daily activities of the Court Reporting Program for the Long Island Business in Commack. Her general duties include: follow up with students to assure they are meeting the requirements of the program, overseeing the internship program and maintaining a rapport with local court reporting agencies. She also observes and evaluates teacher effectiveness and mentors new instructors. Michelle serves on LIBI’s IEP team, curriculum development committee and the Court Reporting Advisory Board.
Peter Cronrath, Programs Director
Dominika McPartland, ESL Certificate Program Coordinator
Dominika has been with LIBI since 2001 with the opening of the Flushing campus. As Coordinator of the ESL Certificate Program, Dominika, working with the ESL, English and General Education Area Coordinator, develops and revises ESL curriculum. She also teaches all levels of ESL, Developmental English, College English and Business Communications and conducts orientations with new ESL certificate students.
Joyce Cheng, Learning Center Administrator and ESL Instructor
Joyce has been a full-time member of the LIBI team since October, 2004. Joyce is in charge of the daily operations of the Learning Center at Long Island Business Institute. Her general duties include managing instructors’ and students’ tutoring hours, bilingual tutoring of ESL subjects and assisting students’ with getting personalized help for their academic problems. Besides managing the Learning Center, Joyce also teaches reading, conversation and grammar classes.
Management
Enos Cheung, Associate Dean of Administration
Enos has been with LIBI since joining the college as an adjunct computer instructor in April 2001. As the Assistant Academic Dean for Administration, Enos supervises the Registrar department and the academic advising team, coordinates semester registration process, and monitors and audits academic progress and graduation eligibility for all students. Enos is in charge of statistical reporting for federal, state and accreditation agencies. He works closely with the Academic Dean and faculty to resolve transfer credits, appeals for grades, and academic progress issues. In addition, he designs classroom and class scheduling based on enrollment, faculty qualification and room availability. He is the Flushing administrator responsible for maintaining student academic folders and monitoring student Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) according to academic and financial aid guidelines.
Nazaret Kiregian, Director of Financial Aid
With LIBI since 2004, Nazaret supervises all aspects of financial aid for LIBI. Mr. Kiregian is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency. In addition he does financial aid packaging for incoming students and continuing students, administers Title IV funds (Federal Loans, Federal Grants) and State Grants for new and continuing students, and processes alternative loans with various lenders.
Robert Nazar, Director of Admissions
Mr. Nazar joined the LIBI team in 2005. His role at the Long Island Business Institute is to ensure that all inquiring students receive the information that will suit their educational needs. Robert supervises admissions college-wide for LIBI and maintains standards required by ACICS and the NY State Education Department. He schedules and hosts LIBI open houses and various events in the borough of Queens. Robert works closely with the Director of Marketing and the Graphic designer to develop LIBI’s advertising.
William Chong, Assistant Branch Director of Enrollment Management
With LIBI since 2005, as the Assistant Branch Director of Enrollment Management, William oversees the new enrollment and the re-enrollment through the Registrar’s Office. In addition, he assists the Financial Aid Office in the processing of financial aid applications. Working closely with the Vice President of Marketing, Admission Director, and the Graphic Designer he helps to develop marketing strategies and advertising campaigns. In addition, William serves as the international student advisor of the institution.
Pier Chang, Vice President of Marketing/Facility and Operations Management
Pier joined LIBI in March 2001. Pier is in charge of all marketing and advertising for LIBI. This includes print advertising, promotional advertising, marketing and working closely with enrollment management and admissions. In addition, Pier also supervises the purchase of supplies and equipment, campus security and maintenance.
Student Services
Adriana Arguelles, Librarian of the Flushing Campus
Adriana Arguelles joined the LIBI Library in the spring 2004. As an academic librarian, Adriana supports members of the academic community, by managing, organizing, evaluating and disseminating the information they need. She facilitates and supports the teaching of information retrieval skills to students and educators. She also manages the electronic resources, database and the LIBI library web page development.
Vicky Bullard, Career Services Coordinator for Court Reporting
Vicki is a graduate of LIBI in the Office Technology program and has been with LIBI since 2004. Vicki supervises the front office/reception of the Commack Campus for Long Island Business Institute. Her general duties include the handling and processing of incoming and outgoing telephone calls, mail, and transcript requests. She tracks and records documents for student academic files and maintains a database for these records. She supervises the preparation and distribution of bulk mailings for Admissions, Financial Aid, and other administrators’ correspondence. Ms. Bullard additional duties include giving workshops, doing individual and group counseling, resume writing, mock interviews. She keeps an “open door” policy for all students and fosters a climate that makes her approachable and available for student needs.
Terry Canavan, Librarian of the Commack Campus
Terry Canavan has been the Librarian at Long Island Business Institute Commack campus since 2002. In addition to keeping the library collection current with the college program curriculum and publishing the library newsletter, she gladly assists the faculty and students with their various research projects. Terry brings many years of research experience to Long Island Business Institute.
Eugenio Chong, Registrar, Flushing Campus
Eugenio joined the LIBI team in April 2007. Eugenio assists the Assistant Academic Dean in supervising the Registrar’s Office department. His general duties include: planning registration, registering students, issuing verification letters, transcripts, processing withdrawals, dismissals, probations, updating student records and any issues regarding the Registrar’s Office.
Annie Mak, Career Services Manager
Annie joined LIBI in November of 2004. As Flushing Campus Career Services Manager, her primary role includes providing students and graduates with career planning and counseling, resume writing guidance, job search assistance, and mock interviews. In addition, Annie conducts workshops to prepare students to enter the workplace. Annie encourages students and graduates to have confidence in themselves so that others will also have confidence in them.
Christine Mattar, Registrar Commack Campus
Christine joined LIBI in 1997. Today, Christine maintains the student records at the Commack campus. Her general duties include: establishing and maintaining student files and database, ensuring that all personal, financial, and academic records are kept accurate, producing and checking accuracy of student transcripts, producing and maintaining class rosters and student schedules. In addition to this Christine compiles statistical data summarizing the information for Federal and State reports.
Anna Venturino, “At-Risk” Student Advisor
Anna joined Long Island Business Institute as an “At Risk Advisor” in March 2008. Her primary role here at LIBI is to ensure that all students overcome any obstacles that are in the way of them completing their college education. Anna also serves as a school counselor for the Ability to Benefit students. She participates in both the Student Services and the Education Management Team in order to provide a foundation for all LIBI students to succeed in their academics. Anna holds a B.A in Psychology and a M.S in School Counseling.
Jessica Parvis, “At-Risk” Student Advisor
Jessica joined the LIBI team in March 2008. As an At-Risk Student Advisor, Jessica works with students who may be experiencing difficulty meeting their academic requirements. She serves as an intermediary between the faculty and students, and works to match students with both in-house and outside services so they may complete their progran requirements. Jessica also serves as an Ability to Benefit student advisor and meets with ATB students 2x each semester. In addition to matching students with resources, Jessica is a part of the LIBI Retention, Student Services, and Education Management teams.
Sam Wanigasinghe, Admissions Manager
Since joining LIBI in 2006, Sam has managed the Admissions office for Long Island Business Institute, Commack campus. His general duties include: interviewing, evaluating and recruiting new students for LIBI. He assists in making marketing plans, schedule and recruiting strategies. He cultivates and responds to student inquiries by phone, mail, e-mail and high school visits. He introduces and advises potential students in regards to LIBI’s diploma and degree court reporting program. Sam Interviews applicants and assists them with the admissions process and requirements. He also follows-up with candidates for admissions and maintain files for transcripts, immunization records, testing, and other materials.
Customer Service and Technical Support
Filpo “Tony” Franco, Database Administrator
Tony is responsible for database management, data integrity, data processing, providing student data for retention, SAP, and various surveys, customizing reports, SQL scripting, user support, and training of the CampusVue System.
Carmen Mendez-Maraj, Office Manager
Carmen joined the Long Island Business Institute in Fall of 2005 as the Office Manager and assistant to the College President. Carmen’s responsibilities include ensuring the delivery of the highest level of customer service to all LIBI applicants and students. In addition, Carmen manages the front office staff, trains, coaches, counsels, and monitors student aides. She assists in the planning and facilitation of LIBI events. She also provides administrative support to the executive leadership team.
Vincent Tang, Information Technology Manager
Vincent joined the LIBI team in March 2002. Vincent manages and maintains the academic and administrative networks for the Long Island Business Institute. His general duties include: monitoring and resolving issues on the networks and computers, planning and implementing system and software upgrades, and providing technical support for the general population.
Joe Torres, Junior Database Administrator, IT Manager Commack Campus
Joe first joined LIBI in July 2006 as Junior DBA in Flushing. Now as Junior DBA/IT Manager in the Commack Campus, he is responsible for maintaining the computers, network, applications, phone and video surveillance. He also provides technical support to students in the Court Reporting program at Commack.
